Arif was an Soviet bureaucrat. Tevfik was employed for 17 years by the Soviet Ministry of Commerce and Trade within its Hospitality Management Department.  Tevfik Arif Arif held various positions throughout his career before rising to deputy chief of the department.

Working for the Soviet government certainly led to an interest in hotel property development and management. Arif was later in a position to pursue these types of ventures in the private sector as a result of his knowledge.

The Soviet Union collapsed in the early 1990s. The industry was later privatized. Many investors and entrepreneurs took advantage of the opportunity to join the new economy by making investments and acquisitions.

Arif as well as his brother also invested in the industry of natural resources in Kazakhstan and other former Soviet Republics.

Initially, Bayrock Group executed small to medium-sized construction projects in New York. For instance, the firm completed the renovation of the Loehmann's Seaport Plaza in Brooklyn's Sheepshead region.

The Bayrock Group's success led to Tevfik Arif became increasingly ambitious. He decided to change the strategic plan of the company in order to concentrate the company's efforts on bigger projects.

Bayrock Group's offices were moved from Fifth Avenue in New York City to support his new strategy.

The move placed the company close to the Trump Organization and also brought the most benefits of any location. This building housed one of the most well-known family-owned businesses in the history of the world.

Many immigrants from Kazakhstan have not managed to build profitable companies in America. When it comes to famous Kazakh figures, Tevfik Arif cannot be overlooked.

Since his early years He tried a variety of ways to be a part of Donald Trump's business associates.

At the Trump Tower, Tevfik Aif as well as members of the Bayrock Group met with members of the Trump Organization.

Due to these business ties, Bayrock Group included Trump Organization into the New York City Soho project.

Bayrock Group had already begun to work with the Sapir Organization on a Soho project. They believed that the Trump Organization could add some branding recognition and prestige.

Tevfik Aif designed a plan to give 18 percent equity to the Trump Organization in the Soho Building. In return, Trump would brand the construction.

Tevfik Arif Fendi Casa pieces have been supplied by Rockwell Group for Trump Soho.

The Rockwell Group has a long list of clients which include Handel Architects. Numerous luxury restaurants, hotels and casinos are among the customers of the firm.

The agreement was signed by the Bayrock Group, Sapir Organization and Trump Organization. Construction could begin in 2006 at Trump Soho.

Trump Organization and Bayrock Group will work together on a variety of other real estate projects following the opening of Trump Soho. The other real estate projects are mostly in Arizona or Florida.

However, the global financial crisis of 2008 hindered the plans for business of the Bayrock Group and the Trump Organization.

Tevfik arif was forced to leave the United States because of a shift in the market.

Through his studies, he has extensive knowledge of tourism and real estate. It was also useful when he moved to Turkey in 1993 to start an entrepreneurial venture.

Tevfik Arif founded the Labada luxury hotel, Antalya. This was an important milestone in the creation of all-inclusive resorts.

He made even more remarkable achievements in Europe/Central Asia during the next eight years. After that, he made the crossing of the Atlantic for the American market.

Bayrock Group's real estate investments in the United States totalled $2.5 million.

In the past couple of years, Bayrock Group was not associated in any US realty development projects.

While Tevfik Arif has retired from the majority of his responsibilities within Bayrock Group, he remains an extremely valued advisor.
